Happy fathers’ day!

When I was a teenager, my dad sat me down at the dining room table with paper copies of a personal income tax return so he could teach me how they work and how to fill them in. That was (ahem) a long time ago, but I’m still guided by the values he taught me: thinking and understanding are important, details and precision matter, your integrity should be absolute, and you should take care of your clients and those in your care, including ensuring they have the knowledge they need so they are empowered (ok – this part definitely comes from my mom too!) and less vulnerable. Who, however, knew that filling in that income tax forms would become a substantial part of my career? Thanks, dad, and we miss you.
